Extensive space, unlimited ideas
The well-known Blohm+Voss shipyard is a local landmark and comprises seven docks in various dimensions including one of the largest graving docks in northern Europe: Elbe 17 at over 350 metres in length and 59 metres wide. The other floating docks, which include two covered docks for confidential projects, range from 143 to 320 metres.
Our outfitting quays are appointed with twelve cranes and the equipment in our workshops includes various gantry cranes and lifting gallows for challenging ship repairs, conversions and refits. Blohm+Voss offers specialist machinery for a wide variety of tasks from milling to turning, pressing to grinding, and boring to cutting. The shipyard also provides office and studio facilities for project managers, owner representatives, design teams and other members of a vessel’s team.
Although our shipyard covers a large area and is formed of multiple docks, our team is tight-knit and can handle the most complex projects working in cohesive synergy together. With these comprehensive services and technical capabilities, Blohm+Voss caters to a complete scope of ship building needs.
