Blohm+Voss specialises in the repair and overhaul of main and auxiliary diesel engines by means of its own unique engine service department. The mechanics are also available worldwide, travelling to impart services anywhere in the world. Customers can also call upon this team for components and services from specific manufacturers with whom the shipyard has various partnerships and manufacturer representatives. These partnerships include companies such as Geislinger (dampers and couplings), KBB turbocharger, SLCE Watermakers (reverse osmosis systems), Schaller (oil mist detectors) and Alfa Laval.

For shipping companies and technical ship managers, Blohm+Voss offers a worldwide spare parts service. The shipyard has earned the status of a well-known consignor from the Federal Aviation Office and boasts extensive stock warehousing so that spare parts can be shipped across the globe in no time. The spare parts service also operates a helpful exchange programme for certain components, whereby old parts can be exchanged for new.

Through the diverse trades and specialist departments on the shipyard, the maritime and industrial sector can also provide comprehensive tank-building and industrial services for industry and refineries. Blohm+Voss’ tank-building division has a wide range of specifically trained and qualified professionals who can handle anything from expert reports and tests to minor repairs and upgrades, as well as brand-new, complex tank systems. With the in-house design department, the shipyard can shoulder the entire process for customers via a single contact person.

The industrial services team is made up of experts competent in heavy machinery and plant construction. With the shipbuilding infrastructure in place, all the machinery and tools needed for the toughest jobs are available to ensure customer problems are solved, headache-free.

For the processing, repair or production of components, each department, as well as Blohm+Voss customers, has access to the Blohm+Voss workshop services and thus to an exhaustive pool of specialised machinery and tools.

Through the cooperation with engine manufacturers, Blohm+Voss can design, realise and service entire CHPs or emergency power plants for customers within the energy industry or large-scale industry (power range 0.5 - 3.0 MW). This closes the customers' gap between the engine and turnkey power plants by providing just one contact person at Blohm+Voss as opposed to several in different companies.
